Father, Forgive Them ....

Father, Forgive them for every unkind, inconsiderate word they speak.

Forgive them when they forget that cruelty only begets more cruelty.

Forgive them for their fear which keeps them trapped in their little lives, trembling and wishing with all their hearts that they could break free into the sun-kissed day.

Forgive them when they lie because they're too afraid to tell the truth because they're afraid of their own truth.

Forgive them when they're too ashamed of who they really are that they misrepresent themselves as someone else believing that other person is somehow better than who they really are.

Forgive them when they lose themselves in drama, believing they are not responsible for those things that happen to them.

Forgive them when they persecute others for their own misguided ideas about themselves.

Forgive them for their projections, mirror images of their own interior selves.

Forgive them for their blindness.

Forgive them for their coldness.

Forgive them for their greed.

Forgive them for their arrogance.

Forgive them for their control issues by which they would enslave each other because they can't control their own inner selves.

Forgive them when they lecture each other for the very things that they are.

Forgive them because they cannot see today what they will see tomorrow.

Fill them with your most blessed Holy Spirit who will give them a new vision and help them detach from all the things of this dark world that would blind them and steal their love for you and each other.  Teach them to love and guide them to realize that love is the lifeblood of their very souls, the single one source of their eternal lives.

Amen

  1. I am in awe. This could be taken from one of my favorite books, "Illuminata." Encouraging: "what they WILL see tomorrow" and also cautionary: May I always ask forgiveness as I fraily, humanly, commit the very same transgressions. Thank You My Friend!!
